DAVID SOBBA Obituary

David Joseph Sobba David Sobba -- Devoted father, loving husband, beloved son, brother, and friend. No words can explain David, who lived his life here on earth big and as bright as the stars and sun! He touched so many in his short 54 years. A healer of many in his career, yet, as he said so many times, his cancer healed him in many ways. He was an avid outdoorsman, and schooled many friends on his skis, on his bike, in the mountains, or in a fierce game of cribbage. He loved competition, even if it was just the first fish caught on his many trips with family to Sitka, or the first one to the top of Big Mountain on his skis. A good day for Davey was a "5-sport day". His greatest treasures were his incredible children Perrey and Walter Sobba. Even though he is gone from this world he will always be with them, guiding them and loving them. He met the love of his life, Sue Purvis, and although their time together was short it was filled with love. David had friends all over the world whom he loved with abandon, especially his life-long co-conspirators Bill Weiss and Tommy Pierce. It was evident as he passed away in his home with many loving friends by his side. Besides his wife and children, David is survived by his father Walter Sobba, mother Anne Brohan, sisters Christine, Kathy, Mary, and Annie, and brothers Tommy, John, and Danny, and their extended families who love him dearly. For the friends and family who knew David, we all know he was always with his constant companion ... his phone. In lieu of flowers, just remember David's final voicemail message: "Put a big smile on your face and have a great day" ... and pay it forward.

Dear Sobba Family,
I was a patient of David's quite some time ago, he popped my knee back into place and I told him "if I wasn't already married, I would marry you"! He later operated and I watched him do his magic on the screen! He always stopped into visit w/me when I was doing PT! His engaging smile, love of life, his witty humor, all made for a man you were so happy to know! He also performed akle surgery on my daughter , and again so caring and kind. I remember actually shedding a few tears when he told me he was moving to WhiteFish, and the huge hug he gave me. I was so sad to read of his passing and I hope the wonderful memories of him will bring you comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family, friends, and the many people he helped.

Dr Walter Sobba, I am Pat Valentines Niece Laurie Martin. Our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. If Aunt Pat was here I know she would call and you both would have talked very fondly of David. Take care of yourself.

No words help with the passing of a loved one. I'm so sorry. I also worked with Dr Sobba 18 years ago at Pacific Sports Medicine. He always made it a fun day when he was there.
