Jonathan Daus Obituary

Jonathan O. Daus Born in Tacoma on June 1, 1981, Jonathan Daus died tragically on December 10th in Gig Harbor. Happiest when he was outdoors, Jon showed an amazing zest for life whether flying across the hills in Tahuya on his dirt bike or enjoying the serenity of fly fishing on Fern Lake with his four-legged companion Scout. Jon enjoyed hiking, camping, and snowboarding. Some of his best memories occurred when he was off-roading in his '65 Landcruiser. Jon's life was rich with family and friends. Left to mourn his passing are his loving Mom and step-dad, Daphne and Bruce Frickelton, sisters Dawn Daus and Molly Frickelton, brother Matt Frickelton, beloved niece Chloe, father Jim Daus, Jon's pal Justin Ballou, grandmothers Dawn Badger and Eunice Wick, and a loving family of uncles, aunts, and cousins spanning both coasts. A 1999 graduate of Henderson Bay High School, Jon loved his job as a carpenter's apprentice for BPCI Construction. He always believed that work was more than a paycheck. A celebration of Jon's life will be held Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 2PM at the Gig Harbor Grange on the corner of Wollochet and Artondale Drive. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Jonathan Daus Memorial Scholarship, Gig Harbor Kiwanis Foundation, PO Box 1491, Gig Harbor, 98335.

Jon was a great person who loved to camp, hunting, and fishing. He loved to do these things with his Father and friends. Him and his father just got back from a hunting trip about two weeks before the accident. They came back smiling talking about in the next week or two they were going hunting for rabbits. Everytime Jon would come over to his Father's they would hug and tell eachother that they loved eachother, it wasn't just once a week it was every day. Standing around the bond-fire drinking a beer, listening to music. It was really good times. I can't wait until we meet again. Love you Jon...
