Joseph Brohan Obituary

Joseph Brohan
February 15, 1926 - January 14, 2022
Wenatchee, Washington - Joe Weishaupt Brohan passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022. He was born February 15, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to Carolyn Weishaupt and Frederic Brohan. He served on the European front during World War II in the 11th Tank Battalion, 10th Armored Division, as an assistant driver and bow gunner. After the war he attended school and in 1949 married Alice Bilodeau. He eventually moved to the Pacific Northwest where he completed his career in the insurance business. Life has many turns, and he eventually met the love of his life, Anne Mornar-Sobba, and on May 13, 1977, they were married. Joe and Anne enjoyed their life together in the Puyallup/Tacoma area for nearly 45 years until they recently moved to Wenatchee, Washington. Their travels took them to all over the world including favorites Croatia and Mexico. Joe was an avid sailor with both large boats and remote-controlled boats, and an artist, writing poetry, doing stained glass and wood carving. They ultimately moved to their beloved Gig Harbor where he and Anne enjoyed being near the water and grandkids. Much like "A Man named Ove," once you got beneath the layers, Joe had a kind heart and generous spirit, who will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Anne Brohan, son Karl Brohan, son Craig Brohan (Mary), grandchildren John and Elyse, and daughter Gisselle (Renee) Brohan, grandchildren Monique, Angellique, Claudia, Sondra, Tamara and Natalie, as well as a large Sobba contingency. A private ceremony to celebrate his life will be forthcoming.
