Today Lillian would be 16. I share stories about her frequently in my new junior high classroom. Thinking of her today, imagining what she would be like as a sweet sixteen.

I was lucky enough to sub in Lillian's class. I remember first meeting her and her shyish smile lit up a room. Over the next few days she opened up to me. She told me all about Pokémon and we discussed what characters we would be. She liked to try to scare me as I did with her. We would both laugh and laugh. She sat next to me as we watched a movie and we shared more laughs and more about Pokémon. She and I were also able to play basketball during pe. I remember her love for throwing the ball down and always trying to beat me by making the ball go higher than mine. She will forever be in my heart. I am so sorry for her loss, and I everyone knows how loved she was!

I remember subbing in Tanya's class and she wanted me to help out a student with math. As I sat watching him breeze through his math problems, Lilli noticed me sitting all quiet. So she said hi to me and showed me her drawings. She was such a sweet girl and I will never forget that day she talked to me and each time she saw me on the playground she would say hi.

Even though I only encountered Lillian for about 20 minutes each school day, I grew to adore her and her sweet personality. She would always come up and say hello, and then run off to the swings. (I will forever remember the 3rd swing as being hers. She would wait patiently for that specific swing, and wouldn't use any other one, even if another one was available first). She also liked to remind me that October 13th was her birthday, and sometimes it would be on Friday the 13th. I didn't know her all that long, as I joined a little later in the school year, however I will remember her forever.
My heartfelt condolences to her family.

I so enjoyed interacting with Lillie at school. I always said hello to her she was so sweet and polite. Lillian had a heart of gold. Out of all the kids ive met in the last few years, she was the one that stole my heart and ran with it. There was definitely something special about this girl. I am forever changed because of her. I will miss her beautiful braids and contagious smile. To her family, I can't even imagine. I am so very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing this amazing girl with us.

Lillian loved reading and finding just the right book in the library. Lillian worried about having overdue books and not being able to checkout regularly. One time she thought she had lost her book, but the shy smile on her face when she returned her book was worth a million dollars! She especially loved when the book fair would be there in fall and spring. Lillian would smile with delight when she found just the perfect item she wanted. She had such a wonderful smile and positive attitude! I enjoyed reading stories with her and watching her grow and develop over the years. She will be greatly missed and my thoughts are with her family.

Lillian was a bright light in the life of everyone who knew her. She was funny, smart, and cared about others. I'll always remember playing Pokémon with her - she knew all the ins and outs. We got 5 eevee evolutions together and I'm on the search for the rest! I love her, I'll never forget her, and I hope her family finds peace.

Everyone who met her at Graham Elementary couldn't help but love her. She would come see me on the playground often to discuss the different evolutions of Evee, the Pokémon, and she'd show me her shirt and ask which one was my favorite. She always had the most fabulous jokes and I told her many times that I thought she should write and publish a joke book. I will never, ever forget her smile, her braids, and her gentle way. My deepest sympathy to all her family. She was such a joy to know.

I will always remember Lilli's sweet presence in music class. She loved to play the xylophones and drums with her classmates. She was a kind and gentle soul that will be missed so dearly by everyone she met. I think often of her family and pray for healing as you work through this tremendous loss. Love and peace to you all - Stacy Figuracion (Lilli's music teacher at Graham Elementary)

I will never forget Lillian, a friend to all, caring, helpful, determined and genuine. I was so fortunate to have her in my life. She started as a student and became so much more. She made an entire joke book for me when my Dad passed away to cheer me up. This was so special because she would not make cards or things unless she really wanted to. She took the time to make this for me and her thoughtfulness did help.
She was very determined. As a student she pushed herself every recess to climb and perform tricks on the big toy, proudly showing off for all of her teachers.
She wanted to do her best and always, absolutely always tried to. So much so she would get huge crocodile tears in her eyes if she felt she couldn't. Reassuring her helped and she continued to work, usually on math.
She was a very funny girl and was really coming to realize it. I truly loved joking with her, she usually said I was weird and then smiled that beautiful smile. If not that, she would say, "I know you're just joking!" She made up some of the funniest puns and jokes centered on Pokemon. Her drawings of her Pokemon characters were always filled with such detail and care.
Lillian loved being a Graham Grizzly. She always chose purple and yellow for art projects and her field trip t-shirts. She would say, "I think it should be purple and yellow, those are Grizzly colors after all."
As a fifth grader she became a support to younger kids in the classroom. She would escort them around the school, helping whenever she could. She went to Mrs. Maggi's fifth grade class for ELA all on her own with great success. She was well on her way as a successful student.
Lillian is missed terribly and will always remain in my heart. I loved her and am a better person for having her in my life.

I remember my little lilli as a very wonderful little girl. interested in astronomy, biology, and when she was seven. could tell you how far each planet was from the sun. and how many moons orbited each planet. when she grew up, she wanted to either be a scientist, or open a cupcake shop. I got lilli at 3 mos. old,as a foster baby and we had such bonding and love, that I adopted her. and planned to spend the rest of my life caring for her. lilli overcame. challenges. she started walking when she was only three, and with help from physical therapy, and her own strong will power, she was as active and strong as any other 11 yr. old child. running, playing, and jumping on the trampoline. she loved to go up to the mountain and play in the snow. words cannot describe how much I miss her beautiful smile.
