POPE - Tyrone Pope, 76, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away peacefully July 13, 2025, at Community Hospice, surrounded by his loving  wife, daughter and son-in-law.
Born Jan. 30, 1949, in Washington, N.C., Tyrone lived a life marked by service, dedication and quiet strength. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, later building a career in the textile and industrial sectors. Tyrone ultimately retired from the maintenance department at Camden County Schools, where he was known for his reliability and work ethic.
Tyrone was a man of simple pleasures and deep commitments. He was an avid reader who enjoyed bowling, weekend fishing trips and quiet moments with family. His love for knowledge and nature was matched only by his devotion to those he held dear.
Tyrone was married to his beloved wife, Twinette King Pope, for 31 years. Together, they built a life grounded in love and mutual respect. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Latoya Johnson (Thomas), and son, Tyrone Maurice Pope, both of Columbus, Ga.
He is also survived by his siblings-in-law, Jeannette King Myers (Harry), Tilton C. King Jr., and LaNancy King Moody (Richey); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends, all of whom will remember him for his kindness, warmth, and steady presence.
Tyrone's life will be celebrated at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, Ga., at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
