Kennewick, Washington - We are sad to announce the passing of Julie Rae Fischer, born Julie Rae Voss, on October 5, 2022, at age 71. A long-time resident of Kennewick, Julie is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Richard Fischer, and their four grown children--Bernadette Hargrove, who cared for Julie during her illness, Anthony Fischer, Kasey Moerbeek, and Luke Fischer. Julie will also be missed by her 11 grandchildren; her three siblings--Sunni Voss, Dan Voss, and Randi Voss--and her nephew Clayton Voss and nieces Cassie Arora and Aurora Bell. Julie will be missed for her kind heart, sense of humor, and wisdom.
A Life Celebration will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Park Drive, on October 22.
Julie grew up on one of the first farms in Block 16 north of Pasco, starting in 1955. After high school, Julie became an extremely efficient administrative assistant, and when the first word processors came on the scene in the early 1980s, she wrote the manuals for these new devices and traveled both nationally and internationally to train corporate customers. She later worked for 25 years as a legal assistant/paralegal. For the last three decades of her rich life, she was a central figure in the Tri-Cities pet rescue community, fostering hundreds of kittens to ready them for adoption around the state.
