Kathleen "Kathy" Krebs

1948 - 2017

Kathleen "Kathy" (Wolfe) Krebs, 68 died on Saturday, February 4, 2017, on a cruise in the Caribbean. She and her husband, Richard Thomas Krebs, were married on September 13, 1969 and moved to Kendall Park, NJ.

Born on May 18, 1948 in Staten Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Lowry)Wolfe.

Kathleen attended Blessed Sacrament elementary school and graduated from Port Richmond High School in Staten Island, NY.

Continuing her education, she earned her associate's degree from Keystone Junior College in LaPlume, her bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and her master's degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.

She began her career in education at The Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville in NJ in 1987, holding administrative, IT Director, Mathematics Teacher, Housemaster and Level Director positions.

Kathleen retired to Wallenpaupack Lake Estates in 2009, where she was an active member of the Woman's Club.

She served on the Board of Trustees for the Community Library of Lake and Salem Townships and was the Chairwoman of the 150th Anniversary celebration for Keystone College.

Throughout her life, as a mother, educator and volunteer; Kathleen was dedicated to enriching the lives of those around her by bringing them education and culture through her own warm personality and engaging intellect.

To her family, she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed photography, baseball, softball, computer technologies, weather forecasting and BINGO.

In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her sons: Michael Thomas Krebs and his wife Katherine Irvine of Claremont, CA and Matthew Eric Krebs and his wife Thuy of San Jose, CA; her sister: Roberta Young; her brother: Robert Wolfe; her grandson: Theodore and many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Colette and her brothers Peter and John Wolfe.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 3:30 pm at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC 3 First St in Spring Brook Twp. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home on Sunday.
