Ann Fallon Obituary

Ann Fallon SARATOGA SPRINGS - Ann Fallon, 96, died peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Born in Troy on April 2, 1921, she was the widow of Arnold E. Fallon, Sr. Mrs. Fallon was the daughter of the late Katherine (Tolopka) and William Karichkowsky of Troy. She attended the former School 5, School 14, and Troy High School. At Troy High, she participated in School Theater. She competed in the Miss Troy Beauty Pageant–the winner going on to the Miss America Pageant. She was first runner-up. Mrs. Fallon was an American Red Cross volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany. In addition, she raised money for the American Cancer Society and the Heart Fund. She also worked with the elderly at the Troy Senior Center and with developmentally-disabled adults at the Riverside Enterprises, in Troy, New York. Mrs. Fallon had an empathetic heart and kindness for those in need. She held a very strong religious faith, which defined her appreciation of life. Mrs. Fallon was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was cordial, kind, and encouraging to family and friends. Ann is survived by her six children and their spouses: Robert Fallon and his wife Helen of Guilderland; Diane Boylan and her husband Lawrence of Saratoga Lake; Ann Reed and her husband Terry of Orange, Massachusetts; Arnold Fallon, Jr. and his wife Becky of La Mirada, CA; Katherine Fallon-Underwood and her husband Gerald of Menands; and Melissa Fallon of Brunswick. Grandchildren: Katherine DeLeon and her husband Vidal; Matthew Fallon; Ann and Martha Romano; Desmond Reed; and Vivian Nichols and her husband Timothy; Amelia Tramontano and her husband Brian; Derrick and Noah Fallon; Charles and Julian Norton; Jack and Katherine Underwood; Mike and Marilyn Sullivan. Five great-grandchildren, Charles Dukes; Micah and Katina DeLeon; Weston and Violet Tramontano; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fallon was predeceased by a grandson, David Romano, Jr. and her brothers, Alexander, Peter, Michael, and John Karichkowsky and sisters, Mary Alice Karichkowsky and Olga Miller. In earlier years she attended St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Troy. Calling hours will be held at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th street and Third Avenue, Tuesday, May 9th from 4pm to 7pm. Melissa, It is with a heavy heart that I extend my sincerest condolences. For many years, I had the privilege of calling your mom, "Mommy" as well. She was like a second mom to me. She always made time for me and made me feel loved. She was grace and elegance magnified. I will cherish the many wonderful memories made with her and with your whole family.
You and your whole family are in my prayers. I love you all.

Mom,
I am who I am because of you....You taught me more than know, about strength, love and Faith, being kind and making someone else better.
I will never forget anything about you especially how you looked into my eyes.
I miss you so much already.
You had the most eager will and love of life. You never gave up but got better..and amazed us all with your will.
Mike and Mar are grateful to have had a grandma like you in their lives for so long.. They loved talking with you, going to the see, and just being by your side.
You beat every odd, and showed a strength that was undeniable.
I will always love you and miss you.
I always left our visits by saying "you're the best mother in the world.."
I love you.
Melissa, Mike and Mar
