Helen Gendron Obituary

Helen Gendron (Lucia) TROY - Helen Gendron (Lucia), 92, of Troy, Entered into eternal life on Monday September 25, 2017 at the Van Rensselaer Manor surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Byran Quinan, and wife of the late Albert A. Gendron. Helen was a graduate of Catholic Central High School Class of 1942, she was employed with Montgomery Wards for over 30 years as a Fashion sales consultant. Helen enjoyed socializing with the Washington Park Seniors, she also loved hosting holiday gatherings especially Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as birthday parties for for her relatives and friends. Survivors include her two sons; Joseph (Darlene) Gendron, and John (John Durand) Gendron, her granddaughters; Dawn Marie and Laurie Anne Gendron and her Great granddaughters; Meaghan K., Marissa M., Emma Rose Burke and Aviana Toften, she was pre deceased by her siblings; Edward Quinan, Margie Prokop and John Quinan. Helen is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday morning from 8:15 am – 10 am at the John H. Clinton Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy. Helen’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Van Rensselaer Manor especially on unit B-2 for all the care and kindness that was provided. In lieu of flowers donation in Helen’s memory would be appreciated and may be made to the Van Rensselaer Manor Activities Fund 85 Bloomingrove Dr. Troy, NY 12180.

Jack, Joe and your families and loved ones, I am so sorry for your loss. Aunt Helen was a woman of great style and a heart of gold. She was always so kind and caring. I have fond memories of how she would take simple events like picnics and make them special. Everyone was welcomed! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
