Michael H. DerArakelian TROY - Michael H. DerArakelian, 72, of Troy, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday December 10, 2016 in the comfort of his home. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Michael and Maude LaMont DerArakelian and the beloved husband of 45 years to Yolanda Sorriento DerArakelian. Mr. DerArakelian was the owner and operator of Michael’s Floor Covering in Troy. He was a former Army reservist, and lifetime member of the Italian Community Center in Troy were he enjoyed to volunteer his time. Michael was a craftsman in his profession and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His most memorable and happy times were spent with his family. In addition to his beloved wife Yolanda, he is survived by his children; Michael and Lisa DerArakelian, III, Richard DerArakelian, and Farah and Paul Douglas. He was the proud grandfather of Ashley, Emily (Jason), Amelia, Molly, and his great grandson Travis. He was the brother of Mildred Ludwig, Erma Chenaille and the late Harry DerArakelian, Grace Horr, Alice Seymour and Lucy Tinker. Michael is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday evening from 4 – 6 pm at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy, Memorial services will begin at 6 pm with Deacon Charles Wojton officiating.
