Duncan A. Robertson Obituary
Duncan A. Robertson 60, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on April 15, 2012. He was born on June 8, 1951, to Dr. George Duncan and Susan Robertson in Boston, MA. As a child, Duncan's favorite hobby was collecting comic books. By his teenage years, he had an unbelievable collection, including many 1st additions, that any avid collector would yearn for. He loved children and dressed up as the Easter Bunny, hiding eggs and candy at Ft Lowell Park. Duncan graduated from Catalina High School where he was Editor of the school newspaper, Trumpeteer, his senior year. He graduated from the University of Arizona where he earned his degree in Journalism. He was an avid writer, as well as an awesome artist of "Outsider Art". He also was a lover of Poetry and Rock and Roll. His creativity was endless. Duncan loved the outdoors (the heat more than the cold) owning his own yard service "Dead Weedz". He was a hard worker and took great pride in his work. Preceded in death by his father, Dr. George Duncan Robertson. He is survived by his mother, Susan Robertson; sisters, Matti Lyn Graham (Daryl) and Angela Robertson; nephew, Duncan Robertson Odea and niece, Alyssa Lyn Odea. He also had an invaluable friend, Charlie Oliver, that tore down walls for Duncan that no one else was able to do. A private luncheon was held at one of Duncan's favorite restaurants. The family would like to thank Devon Gables for caring for Duncan for two years and Gerinet Health Care who helped support Duncan in his transition and for all their help to Duncan's family dealing in losing such an integral part of the family.
Susan P. Robertson 83, of Tucson, AZ passed away on November 13, 2012. She was born on September 23, 1929 to Wallace and Margaret Palmer in Buffalo, NY. She led an interesting life, for example, her future father-in-law's work allowed her to spend time getting to know Albert Einstein in his Princeton home. In her professional life she was a Real Estate Agent and Entrepreneur, creating and selling fire starters called Cup 'o Kindling. Her greatest passion was being a Mother and Grandmother. She was always there for her three children and two grandchildren and was the most loving Mother/Nana anyone could ever have. She was also known as her children's friends "Other Mother". Her other passions were reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid collector of Crosses, Buddhas, and Crystals, which showed her diverse interest in the universe. She was honored to have a forever friend, Lexi Bivings and her children, who shared many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, as well as trips to Rocky Point and California. Later in life, she became very interested in Metaphysics. Her friend, Georgie Marquez, explored this world along with her. She would often tell tales to her grandson, Duncan, of amazing events that had occurred while they were on their learning journey. Preceded in death by her father, Wallace Palmer; mother, Margaret Palmer and her son, Duncan Robertson. She is survived by her brother, Wallace (Butch) Palmer (Jane); daughters, Lyn Graham (Daryl) and Angela Robertson; grandchildren, Duncan Robertson Odea and Alyssa Lyn Odea. A private Celebration of her life was held. A special thanks to Gerinet Health Care, who actually came in to her life to help her with her son's passing, earlier this year, and ended up helping her with her own transition.
