Elsa L. Barreras

Elsa L. Barreras went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2015. Elsa is preceded in death by her loving mother, Irene L. Morales. A beautiful daughter, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and companion. Elsa was born in Morenci, Arizona on February 17, 1958. As a child Elsa was able to travel and live in South and Central America with her family where she became fluent in the Spanish language. After staying home for a few years to raise her daughter, the fluency she had in Spanish would give her an enjoyable 20 year career in education at Tucson Magnet High School working in the ESL department. Survived by her father, Frank Z. Morales; her daughter, Andrea M. Barreras; her grandson, Jose "JJ" Barreras who she loved dearly; her companion, Reynaldo Bermudez; her siblings, Gilbert H. Montiel, Georginia Montiel, Frank L. (Kayrene) Morales, Leocadio L. (Annette) Morales, Irma Morales and Theodore L. Morales as well as many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Elsa was a devoted friend to many and her absence is felt by all that knew her. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S.
