Gerald Porter Obituary

Gerald Porter Born May 1948 in Syracuse, N.Y. died February 19, 2009, of heart failure. Truly "A Man For All Seasons", Gerald was an Artist, Poet, Musician, Translator, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, Woodcrafter, Loyal Friend, Loving Husband and Father. A man who loved classic cars, he would never pass the opportunity to add a Citron or Pinard to the collection. Former owner of Opus Lignus Custom Furniture he was also employed by Pima County Elections and the City of South Tucson. Gerald is survived by his wife, Narisa "Sa"; daughter, Gigi; adult daughters, Olivia, Cindy, Valerie, Yezenthia, Dulcinea and son, Percivale. Funeral/Memorial services will be held at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd. on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private.

My husband and I were introduced to Gerald, and Opus Lingus, in 1985. He crafted several pieces of furniture for us and, through his work and his personality, we have felt a very warm lik to him all these years. His active presence will be very missed. His legacy will always be with you.

Mr. Porter, I have the priveledge of working with your beautiful daughter Valerie. What a wonderful young Lady! I know that saying goodbye to you was the hardest thing she ever had to face. Gerald, you were such a good person that meant alot to so many people. I know when I needed some history on something or translation on a document I knew who to ask!! Its been awhile since I've heard that laugh and had our conservations about family, work, etc. here in the back area at work . Something that is and will truly be missed!!
