When I moved back to Tucson in 2011 after 25 years away I knew where I would go to get my haircut. I had been going there since 1977 and Hector's easy going style and love of the Arizona Wildcats were things I never forgot. RIP my friend!

Hector made every person who ever sat in his chair feel special. Even with a room full of waiting customers, he always took his time and did a great job. He had class, dignity and honor. He always remembered his clients names, no matter how long it had been between visits. I'll miss your laid back easy going style and your positive energy.

Hector was my barber for the last 40+ years, I will miss him; he was a good man who always talked about he and his wife playing the slots; I hope he wins a big one in the casino in the sky, my condolences to the entire Bustamante family, especially to Aaron, who I am sure will continue with the business, your friend randy lopez

Dear family, We are so sorry to hear about Hector's passing. We were neighbors across the street from where he grew up. We would go across the street, and they had a piano, and I would just play the keys, pound on it to make (beautiful) noise, I thought!!!! Hector's parents would just let me. Needless to say, my parents bought me a piano, and I became a piano teacher for a few years....We would go visit Hector at his barber shop because my mom was a hairdresser, and I think we would go to just say hi!!!! Our condolences to the family. May your memories of Hector and the Lord comfort you at this time.

I met Hector at a pottery class at TCC in Sept. 1976. He had served his country. He was so nice and really loved his family. Even after we moved away, when we returned to Tucson, we really cherished all our visits with Hector and then Aaron. We offer our sympathies to his wife and family.

Hector, Sure going to miss you. You sure know how make your friends/customers feel special. Your cuts always make me feel great. No wonder people always would forget their hats!! I will now picture Jesus with a tight cut and trimmed beard right from your golden scissors and golden clippers!! Aaron please take comfort in my favorite verse, Romans 8:38. For I am convinced that nothing in all of creation can separate you from the love of God. See you soon my friend!

I have known Hector for the past 35 years. Even after I moved out of area, I still found time to have Hector cut my hair and tell me stories. You will be missed my friend. God Bless you and your family.

Dear Bustamante Family,

Sorry to hear about the loss of such a great person. Hector was very kind and great to talk and laugh with. My dad began taking me to his barber shop when I was still a kid and I had to sit it the wooden booster seat just so Hector could cut my hair. Me and my dad went to his shop for many years and we looked forward going for our monthly haircut just to talk with him. Hector listened, cared and remembered everything about you and your conversations. As I grew older I remember going many times by myself in college with no money and asking Hector to charge my dad for the cut and tip when he went in for his monthly. It got to the point where my dad would just pay for two cuts even when he was by himself. I even have fond memories of having to wait in the beauty shop in the next room because there were so many people waiting for a cut and a conversation. I could go on and on about this special person. Hector will be missed but never forgotten.

Hector was the barber to four generations of the men in my family. We all went to him before the most important moments in our lives: Our weddings, funerals, job interviews and the like. He remembered everybodys' name, new where everybody was living, and always expressed interest in what we were all doing. He was my first, and has been my only barber, rescuing me from a bad home haircut in the third grade. We are going to miss you Hector.....
