My deepest sympathy to Aunts Elda and Sara,Elinore and her family. Uncle Jess had always been a wonderful, kind and compassionate. From taking me and my siblings to Kiddieland in his Pontiac to quizzing us on the capitals of the states at Grandma Josie's house, he would smile and just be patient. Wow! Later, I had a chance to understand more of his character through his amazing letters he wrote to Mom from the war front, always asking if he had heard from Uncle Chuck and how were they doing? How truly proud I was of him that because of his ability to speak Spanish, he was able to interpret the French newspapers to his fellow soldiers. What a wonderful man and an absolute honor to have been able to call him Uncle Jess.

My deepest sympathy to the Ellie and Bill Jewell family in the loss of your father, grandfather and great-grandfather respectively. Celebrate Jess's life and tuck away in your hearts a piece of his legacy to make your own. Continue his quests and hopefully your friends, family and memories will sustain you all.
