Karen BROWNLEE Obituary

BROWNLEE, Karen 1/7/1963 - 11/26/2016 In loving memory, our family announces that Karen Brownlee passed away November 26, 2016 in her home in Tucson after struggling with pneumonitis. She was born January 7, 1963 in Tucson, where she lived most of her life. Karen graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Arizona. We will greatly miss her laughter and her pleasure at being with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peggy and Bill Brownlee. Karen leaves behind her siblings, Anne Ovadia (Dan), Jeanne Becijos (Ron), John Brownlee (Carla), and Brian Brownlee. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews. We wish to extend special thanks to those who helped Karen over the years. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church at 3809 E. 3rd Street. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Breast Cancer Foundation is suggested. Karen was an avid supporter of the organization.

I'm saddened to hear Karen passed away. She wrote me the kindest letter when my good friend Bill Cobb passed away, and from the way Bill spoke of her I knew she was special.

The Lasota family has very fond memories of Karen. She was most kind and fun loving with the three Lasota boys, now grown men. We are all so sorry for the loss of your dear sister, a sweet dear girl.

Karen was my Spanish student at Sabino High School those many years ago. I remember her fondly as a fine student and a wonderful young woman. Although I haven't seen her since, there is no doubt in my mind that her life was one of fulfillment and success, bringing joy to family and friends, all who will miss her sorely. Please accept my sincere sympathy and condolences. With loving thoughts and prayers, Karen's Spanish Teacher, Sydney Acosta Reilly

Just learned of Karen's passing. We shared some great times as little girls at her parents home walking around in high heels. Her time ended way too soon. Rest in peace!

I just learned of Karen's passing today. I had known Karen since we were in first grade and I lived with her at the University of Arizona. I am very saddened by the news of her passing. I had lost touch with her for many years but I always will remember her laugh and her super intelligence! She was so funny and I know she is up there making everyone laugh! I send my deepest sympathy and prayers to all of her siblings! I know they have an emptiness in their hearts!
Love,
