Michael R. SAUNDERS

SAUNDERS, Michael R. age 69, passed away on November 24, 2017, in Green Valley, Arizona, after a seven-year battle against prostate cancer. He was born in Batavia, N.Y., on June 29, 1948, the son of Irene and John Saunders. After graduating from high school in Elba, N.Y., in 1966, he eventually settled in Arizona, where he earned a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arizona and where he became a Pima County Adult Probation Officer in 1975. He was subsequently promoted to a Field Unit Supervisor in 1990 and retired after 25 years of service in 2000. Mike was very active and enjoyed traveling, camping, tennis, cycling, prospecting with his friend Rich; hunting, fishing, sailing and dancing. He was a kind, caring man who always had a smile to offer to his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy. He is survived by his parents, three step-children: Dave, John and Heather, and his fiance Cynthia Weber, who felt blessed each day she spent with him. You are missed but will never be forgotten.
