Robert ROWLEY Obituary

ROWLEY, Robert H. entrepreneurial businessman and rancher Robert H. Rowley's died on Thursday, April 21, 2016, in his home on his ranch, Rancho Seco, located in Arivaca, Arizona. Bob, as he was known to everyone, was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on June 11, 1939 to Don and Charlotte Rowley. While attending the UofA, Bob met the love of his life, Dottie Wielang. In 1963, they married and moved to Ashtabula where Bob started his professional career working in the family's Northeastern Ohio businesses, Rowley Publications and Radio Enterprises (WREO and WFUN). In 1985, Bob returned to Tucson and over the next few years he worked closely and diligently with Dottie and his eldest son, Jon Frederick to create several new successful communications companies: Rowley Communications Corp., ROMEX, Inc., Locsys, Inc. and Gateway Communications, Inc. In 2006, Bob left the communications business world and started ranching full time at Rancho Seco. His parents had purchased the ranch in 1952 and it was always Bob and Dottie's dream to live out their days under the blue skies and bright stars of Rancho Seco. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years; sons, Jon F. (Angela), Marc H. (Bianca), both of Tucson; daughter, Jean R. Robertson (David) of Shaker Heights, OH, and six grandchildren, Ian Galloway, Charlotte Grace, Jennifer Paige, Robert David "RD", Marc Jayden and Benham Jon. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on his birthday, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Rancho Seco. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Bob's honor at www.cancer.org/donate Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

TO Dottie and the entire Rowley Family,Our thoughts and prayers are with you especially during these most sorrowful times. The years have passed and we are miles away but we will always cherish the wonderful memories and fun times together.Bob especially has a special place in my heart for all he did to support and help me to compete in both the Womens National Powerlifting competition and the first Womens World competition in 1979-1980. Without his support and that of the Ashtabula Star Beacon I probably would have never achieved my accomplishments for that I will always be grateful. Love to All,Stephanie,Mary(mom)and the Moody Family
