Shirley McCracken Obituary

Born March 19th 1937, Passed on June 23rd, 2025.

Shirley Marie Campbell grew up in the humble small town of Combs Kentucky. At just 18 her adventurous spirit guided her out of Combs, and set her on a journey.

That included Louisville, Miami, and Vegas, Reno, Tempe and her final home in Tucson AZ.

She lived a spirited wild life, waitressing in Las Vegas while Elvis was headlining at the Sahara or renting a room from a widow on millionaire row in Miami. Shirley loved to dance with her friends and to have a good time. Shirley was mother to three boys, Anthony, Michael and Pat Jr. She and son Tony settled down in Reno after meeting and getting married to Pat Sr. After a short time in Reno they moved to Tempe and Mesa AZ. The whole family including Michael and Pat Jr. moved to Tucson in the early 60's where Shirley, always the gardener, put down her family roots.

In the late 70's she and Pat Sr. divorced and she raised three teenaged boys on her own. At one point she worked three jobs at once to make sure there was a good roof over their heads and food in the fridge. She was an amazing mother and an incredible grand and great-grandmother. She's remembered by three sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was so kind with a sweet voice and undeniable sweet disposition. She cooked like a southern belle and baked sweet treats that left us drooling. She could have us healed over laughing by a hilarious comment or a "toot"! She was an artist that could make Bob Ross jealous and had a green thumb given by Angels.

She will be missed forever and never forgotten.
