NEWMAN, Steve Thomas -- On Feb. 15, 2017, Mr. Steve Thomas Newman, age 61, of Tullahoma, entered into rest at Tennova Healthcare-Harton. Steve was a man with a selfless heart and a gentle soul. His family was the center of his world and family time was what kept his heart whole. He is best known for being a great husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and friend to many, even his little fur babies, Max and Buffett. Steve had a love for the beach and took his family there often to enjoy oysters and some ocean fun! His other many hobbies consisted of fishing, kayaking, cooking, camping and riding his Harley. Steve was very passionate about the Cleveland VFW and his many beloved friends there. He retired from AT&T Net-work after many years as a manager and has continued his career at Tennova Healthcare-Harton as a pharmaceutical technician. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Geneva Newman; and a brother, Kenneth Newman. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Susie Monday Newman; children, Christine Newman Davis (Ben), Mary Newman Leary (Michael), Laura Newman Bruce (Philip), Tommy Newman, Alena Adams (Daniel) and Chase Rico (Cindy); grandchildren, Aiden Davis, Audrey Bruce, Avery Davis, Grace Davis, Brandon Adams, Blake Rico, Anderson Leary, Ryan Leary, Bratie Leary, Alex Leary and Tyler Leary; sister, Sandra Gibson (Don); nieces and nephews, Jennifer Barlow, Leslie Hehir, Ken Newman, and Sherry Newman Stahl; many friends and his work family at Tennova Healthcare-Harton and several dear friends throughout life. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Tullahoma Animal Shelter in Steve's honor. The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Tullahoma Funeral Home, where a service followed in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Mr. Daniel Adams officiating.
