Andrew Ferris Obituary

Andrew Michael Ferris

Andy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 22, 1976, and died Sunday, March 5, 2023. He attended Memorial High School, graduating in the class of 1995, and went on to attend Oklahoma State University, where he was fascinated by weather, ecology and history and continued to study these subjects far beyond the Stillwater campus. After leaving school, he went to work first in sales and then owned and operated several small businesses throughout his life. His natural ability to connect and resonate with others provided him with countless friendships and an almost infamous legacy about town.

Andy delighted in finding value in the areas of life in which others may not have noticed or cared. He was always rooting for the underdog and believed everyone had immense value. He never missed an opportunity to give all that he had to someone who was struggling - sometimes with advice, other times with the keys to his car. The opportunity to help someone else was much more valuable to Andy than any material object. For this, and countless other reasons, everybody loved Andy. And Andy loved golf! He was always up for a game and played at least a few holes each day, regardless of the weather!

Andy will be missed by all who knew him. His gregarious spirit, his warm smile, and his deep laughter were treasured by all. And his distinct voice is one which all who knew him loved and know can never be replicated or replaced.

Andy will be missed by all that knew him and his life will forever be honored and celebrated by his parents, Jim and Bonnie; brothers, Jim and Scott; sister-in-law, Annie; niece, Bea; his girlfriend, Melissa; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and countless numbers of friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Kirk, 4102 E. 61st Street, Tulsa, OK on Saturday, March 18, at 2 p.m. All are welcome, just as Andy would have wanted. Jim and Bonnie, I'm a niece of Christy Ferris (I live in Norman, ok.) While we are not related by typical definition, you have been family, sharing in good times at weddings and grieving at funerals. You had blessed 30+ of us with
take out Vietnamese food spread at your house after my grandma's funeral.
You both are such angels with generous hearts and fun personalities.
That's why it's so heartbreaking to know you are going through this unbelievable loss. While I don't know andy, I do know he was blessed to have you both as his parents for his brief life.

My prayers are with your family, Bonnie and Jim. Andy graduated from Memorial with 2 of my daughters. He did have an amazing smile and always gregarious. I enjoyed the few times he joined groups of young people who visited our home. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Sincerely, Karen Martin.
