Doris Graham Obituary

Graham, Doris

August 13, 1935 - October 9, 2024

Doris Jean Nossaman Graham, age 89, passed away on October 9th, 2024. She loved her family and was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Doris was born August 13th, 1935, in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Her parents were Edmund and Eva Nossaman. She attended school in Driftwood and graduated from there in 1953. She married Elvin Graham in August 1953. They lived on a farm near Byron, Oklahoma and had three daughters before moving to Ashland, Kansas in 1960. A fourth daughter was born while they lived there. In 1968, the family moved to Claremore, Oklahoma. After divorce, Doris moved to Tulsa in 1984 and joined Asbury Church, where she was an active and faithful member until her passing.

Doris enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, and she made terrific pies. She was proud to get her political science degree from OSU in 1986. Doris was enthusiastic about mission work through her church and made trips to Kentucky and Alaska with the Volunteer in Missions organization of the Methodist church.

What Doris loved most was her family. She was always quick to tell them how proud she was of them and would do anything for them whenever she was able. She will be terribly missed.

Doris is survived by four daughters: Shelly Bodley of Ashland, KS; Barbara Ginn and husband, Kenneth of Tahlequah, OK; Susan Arenson and husband Brian of Tulsa, OK; and Diane Bell and husband Blake of Owasso, OK; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In honoring her love of mission work, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Asbury Missions, 6767 S Mingo Road, Tulsa, OK 74133.
