Loren Keith and Dora Vivian Swift

1923 - 2023

Loren Keith Swift was born on September 9, 1923 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and died on December 21, 2023 in Mesa, Arizona. His parents were Harley Ernest Swift and Lura Alzeda (Chaney) Swift. Keith had two sisters: Betty Mae and Margaret Sue.
Dora Vivian (Aumick) Swift was born on July 11, 1928 in Fayetteville, Arkansas and died on December 3, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona. Her parents were Evan Crofton Aumick and Miranda Clementine (Cook) Aumick. Dora had three sisters: Evelyn Elizabeth, Jennie Lee and Alice Amanda.
Loren and Dora were married on December 21, 1947. They had two sons: Douglas Keith Swift (wife Jacquelyn) of Puyallup, Washington; and Mark Stanley Swift (wife Angela) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had 9 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. They lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas; various bases while in the Air Force; and eventually settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma where they raised their family.
Loren was a retired Civil Engineer from the US Army Corps of Engineers. He was also a veteran of the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force. He loved playing softball and played multiple times in the Senior Softball World Series and was MVP in one. He was inducted into the Senior Softball Hall of Fame. Dora was a drum majorette in high school and college. She was a skilled artist and loved painting. She also liked working with beads and other arts and crafts, and collecting Frankoma and other dishware. Together they loved camping and spending time with their children. After retirement they lived on Lake Hudson in Oklahoma for several years and then moved to Mesa, Arizona.
