Victoria Krans Obituary

KRANS -- Victoria (Vicky) Ralston, born January 9, 1953, in Tulsa, OK, suddenly passed away June 3, 2005, after suffering a cerebral aneurysm. Vicky treasured her family and was dearly loved by: her husband, Kurt; son, Michael Evans; daughter, Lauren Sears and her husband, Eric Sears; and the light of Vicky's life, her grandson, Brayden Sears. Vicky cherished the love she shared with her mom and best friend, Mary Ralston; brothers, Steve Ralston, Mike Ralston and his wife, Ann Ralston; niece, Laurel Ralston; and nephews, Matt and Miles Ralston; step-son, Kevin Krans; and mother and father-in-law, Ardythe and Bob Krans. She was preceded in death by: her beloved dad, John Ralston. She also leaves behind many friends who will all miss her dearly. Vicky was a spirited woman who enjoyed a great sense of humor and never lost her imagination, curiosity and love of adventure. Always putting others first, she was charming, bright and oh so insightful. Vicky and Kurt truly celebrated their life together every day and graciously opened their home frequently to family and friends for holidays and special occasions. These gatherings at the Krans' home were always a celebration. Vicky's 30-year career as a Special Education Teacher in the Tulsa Public Schools touched the lives of hundreds of students - both personally and academically. She had a sincere desire to share knowledge with all her students so that they could continue in their academic and professional careers. She was truly one-of-a-kind, and with generosity typical of Vicky, she chose to be an organ donor. We will miss her always. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 South Cincinnati, Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers contributions to an education fund benefiting grandson, Brayden Sears, will be accepted at Tulsa Teachers Credit Union, 3720 East 31st Street, 918-743-9861. Well Vicky, you know what a procrastinator I am - so, I've waited until the last day to type this my sweet friend. I want your wonderful family to know that OSU for me means my friend "Ralston" who had a smile for everyone, never got mad, was always willing to walk the dogs, meet me to eat Mexican Food, run errands for anyone and most of all truly meant that she was your friend forever. I loved buying a doz. pastries (for myself) as I pretended to be buying for 4-5 people & watch Vicky crack up laughing. We made A's in class & marveled at our magic 6 hr. cram the night before, knowing that it was the orange juice & chocolate that really did the trick. Besides the good food that Vic & I always enjoyed together, we loved being able to talk about God with each other & found comfort in knowing that He was on the throne - especially when our world seemed to be falling down around us at times. I rejoice in knowing that you have the best of the best right now Vicky & to your family I say, "How blessed you were that God chose you to be a part of her precious life". I loved you much my college friend & I will miss hearing how you called me "Farabough".

Awaiting Him,

Brenda

I was Vicky's intern three years ago at Nimitz Middle School. I have often thought about her and tracked her retirement because I knew how excited she was about retiring. She would always say excitedly, "when these sixth graders become eighth graders I will be retiring." She taught me so much about becoming a special education teacher-never sugar coating what she said! I have so many memories of her. At the beginning of the school year I remember her taking me to lunch and to her husband's shop to meet Kurt. She made me feel like a friend, not just an intern. Her life was cut way, way to short but I know that she totally enjoyed the years she spent with Kurt and her grandson. I will never forget her.
