David Stonecipher Obituary

KNOXVILLE David Allen Stonecipher, age 56, of Knoxville, Ala., died Feb. 4, 2007 at home. Services will be 2 p.m. today, Feb. 7, 2007, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Ed King officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing.

His parents, Hazel and Wallace Stonecipher, his brother, Robert Stonecipher and his sister, Tina Stonecipher, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Sue King Stonecipher; daughters, Lisa Stonecipher Boyd (Tim), Melody Stonecipher Riley (David Ryan), and Jill Stonecipher Holder (Josh); sisters, Shirley Stonecipher Lynn (Joe), Debra Stonecipher Cooley (Jeremy), and Sherry Stonecipher Beatty (Gary); brother, Terry Stonecipher (Penny); grandchildren, Haley Higgins, Harmony Higgins, Dustin Boyd, Mason Riley, Brylan Holder, and Savannah Holder; great-granddaughter on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be David Levins, Chad Levins, Shannon Levins, Jerry Hallman, Willie McNeal, Jimmy Albright, Johnny Stillwell, Donald Gwin, Greg Brown, and Max Fair.

David was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 1, 1950. He moved to Tuscaloosa in 1970 and opened his roofing company, Stonecipher Roofing Co., Inc. In 1983 he began Crimson Contractors, Inc. as a General Contractor and worked throughout the Southeast.

He was married to his soul mate, Sue, for 37 years and has three beautiful daughters and six wonderful grandchildren that he loved dearly and was so precious to him.

He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a great musician and loved playing his guitar.

He gave his soul to Christ when he was 14 years old and anyone who knew him knew that God was his partner. By faith, he accomplished so much during his life and gave all the glory to God.
