Martha Hughes Obituary

AUBURN | Martha Ann "Maggie" Hughes, age 88, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at East Alabama Medical Center. A memorial mass will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home with Monsignor William Skoneki officiating and Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home & Crematory is directing.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew John Hughes, MD; daughter, Molly Hughes (Carl Hollopeter) of Auburn; sons, Andrew John Hughes, Jr. of Ft. Myers, Fla., Michael Gregg Hughes of San Francisco, Calif., David Alan Hughes (Nicole) of Tuscaloosa, Christopher Joseph Hughes (Kathy) of Auburn; 7 grandchildren, Mary Kate Hughes, Ivy Hughes of Auburn, Madison Frazer, Mary Elizabeth Hughes, Jack Hughes, Whit Hughes, Win Hughes of Tuscaloosa.
She was born on November 17, 1926, in Columbia, Tenn., to Ewell K. and Nell Page Gregg. Mrs. Hughes had been a long-time resident of Auburn and an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers and suggests memorial donations may be directed to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
