Willie Gaut Obituary

TUSCALOOSA – Willie Lee Gaut, age 87, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died September 9, 2016, at Hatley Health and Rehabilitation. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Memory Chapel with Dr. Donald Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elijah P. Gaut Sr.; parents, Annie McCarty; and Gustus Price and brother, Allen Price.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan G. Wyatt of Verbena, Ala.; son, E.P. Gaut Jr. of Northport, Ala.; stepsons, Rea Gault of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Mark Gaut of Scottsboro, Ala., David Gaut of Helena, Ala.; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 11 step- great-grandchildren.
Willie was born in Brookwood, Ala., where she grew up. She married E.P. Gaut Sr. and lived in Tuscaloosa. She worked at the University of Alabama until she retired and was a member of Forest Lake Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
