Dear Mats,

We are so sorry to hear about your and Stephanie's great loss. The last time I saw her Annika was still just a young girl, but it sounds like she was really blossoming into a wonderful young woman!

Our thoughts are with you.

Sincerely,

Jennifer (Adam), Wally, and Jorgen

Taking several days to get a hold of our thoughts did not help so far… We are at loss for words, but we certainly have vivid memories of a beautiful, intelligent daughter, sister, and friend who will be missed greatly, but the memories will be with us as long as we live. We will never forget the beautiful smiles, energetic laughter and determined purpose Annika always had… It is greatly too soon to believe she is gone, but to us she will be ever present in our hearts and mind as she will be in the hearts and minds of everyone who had the pleasure to know her… Thinking of what her parents, especially, and the rest of her family and friends are going through just tear our hearts apart… Our thoughts are with you. Rest in peace, Annika.

I'm having a really hard time coming to terms that you're gone. With all the time we spent together in high school, i wish it could have lasted past, but we went in seperate directions with occassional posts on facebook. you are a great memory, one of the reasons high school was worth it. Meeting and spending time with you and being through so many ups and downs and we still managed to come through. you are amazing and I, nor anyone who has ever met you, will forget you and I know i treasure that time I had with you. Love you girl!

Annika
I remember seeing you with the UofMN daycamp group - the kids all looking up to you as their 'big sister'. You brought a special touch to the lives of many.

Annika is a beautiful, intelligent, strong, driven girl with the whole world ahead of her - full of opportunities and promise. She also has a mother who truly believes in her, loves her with her whole heart, and encouraged her every dream to come true. When I was around the two of them, I was reminded of what "family" really is... beautiful.
Here is a list of her heroes: "My Grandpa, My Mom, My Grandma, my Farmor, My Dad, My Older Brother....."
Annika is the kind of person that is a blast to be around... someone so full of energy that she would light a fire underneath you! She always made me laugh and had a way of getting me to think about things in a different way. She really is beautiful inside and out. She will always be my "little sister"... and she will ALWAYS be missed. It hurts too much right now to smile when I think of all of the good memories... but, I will someday... I promise, lil sis.

Annika was such an amazing person that i feel so honored to have known. We may have grown apart over the years..but never in a million years will i forget the amazing times that we had together and how she always knew how to put a smile on my face. We could laugh for hours about basically nothing. I will never forget snowboarding, Italy, and the girly talks we would have! I dont know why, but there is one memory sticking out to me more than any other and that is when we had one of our sleep overs and we spent the whole night making videos and laughing until our faces hurt. You will be missed greatly Annika, by so many people. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers

As I was reading Annika's obituary, it was mentioned how she was full of life. I met Annika and her brother Neils at the U of MN summer camp where I was a counselor and I can honestly say every moment was fun with the Troedssons! Everyone knew them as if if they were our own younger siblings and she will be missed.

Annika was a great girl who always had a smile on her face and was a joy to be around. I knew her ( and her brother Neils ) first as campers at the U of M, and later as a co-worker at the same camp. She was amazing with the kids, always having fun with them. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. May she rest in peace.

I feel such an overwhelming sadness in my heart at the loss of Annika. She was a bright light and touched my life and the lives of so many others. I am so proud to have known her and that my son and daughter both had the honor of calling her friend. My heart cannot express enough love to her family during this time - may you find peace in this loss and faith in the coming days. I will miss her so much.
