I could not make it to the Celebration of Life, but I wanted to let you know that my dad, Bob Switala was a friend of Jim's. I remember him from his Como Zoo days. I remember he was always kind and let us play with the baby animals. I am sure my dad met Jim at the pearly gates and they are having a great time reminiscing about the good old days.

To the family of Jim, my heart go out to you all. So sorry for your lose. Jim was a great man,a man's man. I lived next to him when he lived in his apartment. He could not have been more friendly or generous. I loved the stories he told of his experiences at and for the zoo.Especially the one about transporting Frank the Kodiak bear. I would bring a bag of apples just to throw to Frank. He would eat them like grapes.
With tears in my eyes I say good bye for now Jim, see you later... David

So sorry to learn of Jim's passing. He was the number one best neighbor/friend anyone could ask for. Always had a smile, a lending hand, or a hearty laughter that made you smile. He was a perfectionist, and we loved that about him. His yard was immaculate, you could eat off his garage floor, and his cement driveway was spotless. He was just an awesome person, all the way around. We will miss him, our whole neighborhood will!!!

It really made me sad to hear about your loss. Although no words can take the pain away, I hope the words recorded at Jeremiah 29:11,12 brings comforts your heart.
