John lit up every room he ever entered! Heaven must be that much brighter for his presence. I will miss his wonderful sense of humor and fun,his repertoire of show tunes sung with gusto, his compassion and I will always remember his courage. "Life is not measured by the length of our years, but in the use we make of them". Well done, John.

i met john shortly after he started and have enjoyed his company thru the years immensly. our new year's eve lobster dinner in 2002/03 at our house was for sure a real highlight of our relationship. dewey,john,gregg and i ate and celebrated for hours and all of a sudden we looked at the clock and it was 3am. so much for going out after that. party on dear friend and colleague. smooches s/g

One special memory I have of John was the morning I came down to the hotel lobby in Paris about an hour early for crew pick up, as I wanted to make a quick trip to the market. There was John, sitting having coffee, as handsome as could be, I might add. I asked him what he was doing down there so early. His reply was that he liked to leave his room early so that the room could be cleaned and the inbound crew wouldn't have to wait for their rooms after flying all night. That was just the kind, warm, gentle spirit of John.
Flying with John was always a fun-filled adventure as well. He definitely was blessed with and maintained all the special qualities that God made possible for man to have. John was one of a kind, that's for sure. Our loss and heaven's gain. Love you, John.

To the De Witt family,
I was so sorry to hear of John´s passing. He was so loved among his co-workers. I have met John when he was still based in Boston in 1989 when I started to fly as an interpreter for NWA on the Amsterdam route.
It was always such a pleasure and great fun to fly with him, it breaks my heart that God took such a wonderful person to him. Heaven will be a better place with him in it!
There is a bright star shining out there and keeping an eye on us.
John will be greatly missed!

I knew and loved John from the moment I met him and was blessed with having an incredible, fun time with him both at the L.A. base and in Detroit. Some people shine a little brighter than the rest of us, John was one of these.I can't think of him without smiling. He will be sorely missed.

I'm a Customer Service Agent at DTW and saw John coming and going through DTW rather frequently. He was always one to put a smile on my face during a bad day at work, or even better, a good day!
He was so vibrant and fun-loving and had such a wonderful sense of humor. It's a great honor to have known him and had him as a friend and I will deeply miss him.

It was so great to finally meet you. I am so sorry it was under the circumstances it was. John was a truly wonderful man and now I know why after meeting all of you. He was one of the brighest lights in our lives which will make us miss him tremendously, but that light was so bright it will live on in each of us that knew him forever! I am one of John's coworkers from Carlson, as well as one of his biggest fans! You and I spoke on the telephone a few times, and at this time I send my deepest condolences to you, and to all John's loving family. God certainly gave you "the best" when he sent John to live among us all! My years of traveling the world with CMG were much more fun when John was along to share the adventures; he made us laugh until we cried, his handsomeness turned heads everywhere, and his goodness will inspire me always. John was a very bright spot in my life, and I will love him eternally.

John was one of my favorite Flight Attendants. I will never forget the fun and good times we both have shared on the Paris flights and during our layovers. You may be proud of having such a good-looking, positive thinking, and generous son. I will miss him. John and I never took ourselves seriously while working. I took care of John at St. Johns hosptial. He was a lovely man who everyone just adored. He is in our hearts and prayers. He made everyone smile and laugh. I had the privilege to fly with John only a few times, but he was the kind of person who makes such an impression on you that you never forget. As a French interpreter, I flew with John on several occasions out of Paris, France... I did not know him that well but with his lovley smile and wonderful personality John managed to touch my life as I am sure he touched lots of peoples'life.

I did not know John, however I do know that you feel the loss and I am sorry. Arlene and family, our deepest heartful sympathies go out to you. John was truly an angel of God. My wife couldn't stop talking about her trips with him and how he made her and everyone on the airplane laugh and enjoy life. Passengers always asked if they were brother and sister, and John made you feel that you were his brother or sister. I've had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic people in my life, and John ranks up there with the best of them. Truly a special man. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all, always. Love ya John.

Arlene and Family I would like to express my deepest sympathys for your loss of John. I have known John since our days together at John Glenn Jr. High. Let me tell you, it was a very nice surprise to see a friendly and cheerful face at Hill-Murray High School not knowing at the time that John was also attending Hill. I will alway remember the way John ran the High Hurdles in Track, he could run like the wind and float over those hurdles with ease. John had a way about him that would cheer you up no matter what mood you would be in. Just recently I had the pleasure of chatting with John about High School while replacing some windows for him. It was so good to see John laughing again! John will be missed Greatly! Arlene, John and the rest of the family will always be in my prayers. God Bless You!

I am so sad to hear of John's passing. A wonderful son, brother,uncle,neighbor,and friend.
Along with many of the gifts he has left on earth, I will continue to treasure and enjoy the beautiful gardens he planned, planted and cared for with so much love.

It was my pleasure to meet John in 1996 when we both worked at Dayton's Maplewood. We also were neighbors(3 blocks). John is a sweet wonderful caring guy, who loved his mother, sister and his precious adorable nephew and darling "princess" niece and his devoted companion, Bruno. Even though we didnt see each other often, John was always in my thoughts and prayers. Sympathy from my heart and many Blessings to the DeWitt family.
