Dear Ina, Erin and Erikka, I'm so sorry I could not make it to the funeral. Hopefully Seaneen mentioned to you that I and my sister Sue Ann have the flu. It's a shame, because I really wanted to be there to offer my last respects. I have fond memories of sitting and conversing with John at Erikka's various parties through the years. He was such a pleasant mild mannered person. It was sad to not see him at the Christmas party this year. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers, as will all of you. Take care..
P.S. Thank you for coming to my mom's funeral; it's a shame I could not reciprocate...

Dear Ina and Family,
I have many fond memories of visiting Aunt Hattie and Uncle Pete in St. Paul when I was a child. John always gave attention to my sister Carol Ann and me while we were there. He was so kind and caring. It saddens me to know that he is no longer in this world. May your memories of John comfort you as you mourn his death.
