Mary CALLAHAN Obituary

Passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 9, 2019, at the age of 98. Born in Minneapolis, lived in White Bear Lake for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Callahan, sister Joan Lethert, and brother James Beck. Beloved mother of Paul (Ann), Kathleen Williams, Thomas, Colleen Schiltz (Greg), Kevin, and Patrick (Patricia). Adored grandmother of Laurie Esau (Ronald), Megan Callahan (Stan Jurga), Michael (Joanna), Catherine Schantz (Matthew), Daniel Schiltz (Joanna), Cristin (Luke), and Thomas; and worshipped great-grandmother to Alexandra and George Esau, Madelyn, and Emily Jurga, Lucas and Henry Schantz, Ellison and Maja Callahan and Lucy Schiltz. Mary deeply loved each of her descedants and made them feel like they were her favorite. Mary treasured being with family and friends, telling stories, browsing garage sales, golfing, visiting these United States, making the best potato salad in the world, as well as superb chicken divan, and savoring chocolate in any form. Mary's smile was a ray of sunshine for everyone she met, and she made this world a better place. The family would like to thank all the residents and caregivers at Johanna Shores, in Arden Hills, for their support and compassionate care of Mary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in White Bear Lake at noon on February 5th, visitation for 1 hour prior at the church.
