Susanne DELANEY Obituary

Age 88, passed away on September 14, 2016. Preceded in death by husband Frank Delaney Jr., son Joe Delaney, brother Bill Egan and parents Arthur and Anne Egan. Survived by sons Jim (Anne), Chip (Jane) and Mark Delaney, daughters Anne Kreiser, Mary Delaney and Shelagh Burke (Joe), brother Tom Egan (Mary Ann) and dear cousin Jeanne Fiedler. Sue also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren whom she adored. Sue was born in Minneapolis in 1928 where she attended Christ the King grade school, Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota. She loved growing up near the lakes in Minneapolis and she treasured the lifelong friendships she made along the way. She adored her brothers Bill and Tom and it was with them that she developed her lifetime passion for golf. While at the U of M, Sue met a charming young Irishman named Frank Delaney. They married in 1951 and together they raised their 7 children in St. Paul. Sue happily dedicated her life to her family. She was a faithful and supportive partner to Frank and a loving and generous role model to her children. When her kids were all in school, she joined the staff at Nativity grade school where she worked as a teacher's aide for close to 30 years. Throughout her life, Sue continually developed and maintained friendships that she always cherished deeply. Sue was truly a wonderful woman in every sense. She was sweet, compassionate, generous, good-natured and so much fun to be with. She treated everyone she met with kindness and respect and was always appreciative of those around her. Her loving presence will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Carondelet Village or donors choice. Visitation will be 9 - 10 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am on Monday September 19th at Church of the Assumption, 51 W. 7th St., St. Paul. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. 651-698-0796

Sorry to hear the news about Sue's passing. You do not know me but I am a third cousin to Sue's children, related through Delaney family lines. I have a family tree that I would be glad to share with any family member that is interested.

I remember your cute family, when we were all kids at Nativity grade school, and I would see your sweet mom, when I was at Carondelet visiting my dad. I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom.

May God comfort you at this time. I was Susanne's mailman and she greeted me every day with a smile and wave. I appreciate the kindness and love she gave me and everyone she met.

I am so sorry for your loss. This Earth will never be the same! Your Mom was one of thee sweetest women I ever had the pleasure of knowing! She lives on in each of you, that in itself is a comfort.
