Kathleen and Family,
I was sorry to hear about Tom’s passing.
May time heal your sorrow, may family and friends ease your pain, may peace replace heartache, and may the beautiful memories you have of Tom give you strength at this difficult time.

Regardless of his condition, Grandpa always had so much energy for life. He loved his family so much and if he had it his way, he would do nothing but spend every waking moment with them. The laugh that everyone could have heard from miles away and his fantastic strength to stay with us for as long as he did. He brought a smile to everyone's face and created happiness even when times were tough. I love you Grandpa and miss you.

Dear Aunt Kate, Tom Jr, Sharon, Sissy, Tim and Lovey and family. Sorrow will pass, joy will return and your memories of Uncle Tom will live on. What a blessing he was to all of us who knew him. The world is a different place without his presence in it. Right now he is kissed by the love of God. May you find peace and comfort in the love and prayers of friends and family. God bless all of you.

Grandpa Gums is missed every single day by so many people. He would always make us laugh and singing songs with him was one of my favorite things. Just a kid named joe and you are my sunshine were a few of my favorites. I will always hold our memories close to my heart and I can't wait to share the songs he taught us with my kids some day :) love you gramps and I'll be seeing you.

My grandpa will be missed by so many people. His sense of humor was amazing and he always kept me laughing. He always made his love known to us and I will never forget all the memories of being up at the lake and singing songs with him. I know that he is in heaven watching us all and will continue to always be "my sunshine who makes me happy when skies are grey"

My father was such a kind and giving man. I will never forget the love he gave especially to his grandchildren. The vision of him holding them as infants and singing "rock a bye" will linger in my memory forever. I loved your laugh and will miss you so much Dad-your Loveness

Over the last 5 years, having spent more time with Tom (other than Kate) than anyone else with my frequent trips to AZ, I got to know him very well.
Always wanting to return to MN, to see the kids, the grandkids, and friends, I would remind him that the temp was -14 with a windchill of -25, his response, "your kidding". How many times have you heard him say that?
So many stories, which I will leave documented in my memory due to their content!
How many times did I hear, "what's up Bobby", or, "I'd whip your fanny on the golf course".
While outwardly he appeared to be a grouchy old curmudgeon, those that truly knew him realize he had a very loving heart, and a soft side that was only shared in total confidence.
Now he can retire to the fishing boat, a cooler of Bud Lite, and a calm lake.

Dear Sha, Sissy, Lovey, Tom & Tim,
Our hearts go out to you in this time of sorrow. Your Dad will be remembered for many of the things he carried through life. The most important of those was the love from his family. Kate is an inspiration to all of us. Just know that Tom will be looking out for each of you.

My Grandpa was one of the funniest people I have ever met. He could always make me laugh. I will have fond memories of him telling great stories and teaching me songs. I know that Jonathon was waiting for him with open arms. I am comforted to know that they are together in a wonderful place watching over all of us.

Tom always left a deep impression on those who witnessed his humor, the way he laughed, even at himself. One phrase that will live on and on "Kate, I am so got damned handsome" and that story about the spider monkey, those stick in my memory and the man that delivered them. I know Jonathon had a big smile.

Having spent just a short time with Tom when in Arizona visiting Katie,Sharon and sisters, what struck us was his sense of humor. If we all could just take that and like wise carry a sense of humor with us through life. Tom lived life as he wanted, so we in turn, in memory of him do likewise. To his family, our thoughts and prayers are with you now.
