Dear family, I am deeply saddened that I am just finding out about cousin Delmer's passing. And that I didn't get to talk with my dear cousin before he died this summer, and feel terrible that I didn't check in on him before now. I just came across his obit and very sorry that I missed his funeral. It was a difficult summer for me.
I want to express my love and gratitude to his beautiful family! I have enjoyed getting to know you each a little better than I did in my youth. Delmer and Barbara made quite the impact on many people. I cannot tell you how many times I ran into people when I lived out in Salt Lake that when they heard I was a Hamblin, they would always say something "do you know Delbert and Barbara Hamblin?" I would tell him yes they are my cousins and I would get to hear wonderful stories about how they were their school teachers and how much they enjoyed their classes. This has been as lately as within the few years actually, and I know they must have been retired for quite some time. But their names and reputations live on in others. I will always love them, they're kindness, their passion, their talents and their family.
Rest well Delmer, you deserve it. Until we meet again, love,

Very sorry to hear of Delmer's passing. He was a true friend to his classmates at Union High. I also visited him. Kay and Arvin Hullinger a few times in their Quonset hut at Utah State. Accept my condolences,
