Joanne McIntyre Obituary

Joanne Sharon McIntyre 7/23/48 5/04/10 Joanne slipped away in the arms of her companion, Bob Cain on the evening of May 4th. after a long battle with scleroderma. As a result of her disease, she received three lungs in 2005 as a result of two separate transplants. Her disease caused many complications until it finally overcame her at the young age of 61. She fought valiantly for life and was determined to stay with her friends and family as long as she could. Joanne was born at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto and resided in Menlo Park Ca. until the early 70s. She was the youngest of three children parented by Hilaire (Milton) and Bernita Lamoreaux. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dayl McIntyre June of '67. In the '70s, Dayl and Jo moved to Northspur near the halfway point of the Skunk Railroad. They were in the process of building their home in the hills when Dayl lost his battle with cancer. In '84, Jo moved to Willits where she met Bob Cain and they became a couple. Joanne worked at the Mendocino Sheriffs department in accounting from 1991 - 2005. Due to her condition, she was forced to retire from a job that she loved. Her husband, mother and father preceded her in departure. Jo leaves behind her loving companion, Bob, her brothers and wives Neil and Nancy and Bill and Emily Lamoreaux, sister in law, Carol Becker, nephews, Mark, Clint and Jason. Nieces, Renee Taylor, Francy Lamoreaux, and Michele Harney. Her uncle Dayton Leroy (Roy) Knackstedt, and aunts Cora Simon, Eyvonne Bresin, Kathy Perkins, and Hazel Melhart, She will be missed by many friends and her bedside companions, Molly the dog and Jackie the cat. At Jo's request, there will be no services. Any donations can be made to U.C.S.F. Foundation P.O. May she finally rest in peace and look down upon us with a guiding glow. We love you baby.
