ROBERT JENKINS Obituary
Bob passed away doing what he loved, spending a day with his wife of 54 years, Sherry, and two close friends on a beach in his tropical paradise. He attended Columbia Elementary, then Sonora High School, until joining the Army at 17 years old. He then served in the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart medal.
He returned to Sonora, where he met Sherry and started their life together, having a son, Chris Jenkins, and a daughter, Mandi Jenkins-Wright. He loved his family more than anything, and looked forward to barbecues and holidays ,where he would spend time with his five grandsons and two great-grandchildren. Over the years, in his spare time, he loved riding his Harley, woodworking in his garage, and camping at the lake on his boat with family. If a friend or family member ever needed an extra hand, he would drop what he was doing and be there.
He retired from PG&E at age 57 after working for them for 36 years and, since then, has been traveling the world with Sherry, experiencing new tropical adventures and scuba diving as much as he could.
Bob's big heart and calm presence will be dearly missed by many.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the Sonora Elks Lodge, 100 Elk Drive, Sonora, CA, 95370.

Bob and I played on the Wildcats football team, all four years. Bob was tackle on the first string. He was tall and tough.

I fondly recall working with Bob at the old Cable Vision in the late 60s; before he worked for PG&E.
