Gail Burnes Obituary

Gail S. Burnes, 90, of Goffstown, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Gail was born on February 11, 1935 to Marion V. Lawyer (Maxwell) and Calvin E. Lawyer in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The family eventually moved to Goffstown, NH, where she met the man who would become the love of her life, Kenneth (Kenny) H. Burnes in 1947.

She graduated from Goffstown High School in1953, working part-time at the Goffstown Cleaners in Goffstown. After high school, she attended Hesser College for secretarial courses.

Fate would bring Kenny and Gail together. They were married on May 30, 1959 and had two daughters, Vanessa Burnes and Doreen Burnes (Ientile). In the 1970's, Kenny purchased land in Goffstown, where they built their forever home and raised their two children.

Gail spent her summers on Martha's Vineyward with her large family. Once Kenny and Gail were married, they continued to visit the island for many years thereafter. Gail and Kenny were inseparable, with Gail always tending to him, making sure he wasn't getting into too much trouble.

Gail will be remembered for the love she had for her family including her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her siblings and many cousins, and many, many friends, but her true love will always be Kenny. Gail would always be the stubborn and outspoken one, while Kenny was the patient and kind one. They meshed well together and it worked; having been married for 64 years before Kenny's death in 2023. They have been reunited with one another, forever at peace.

Gail leaves behind her two daughters, Vanessa Burnes of Goffstown, NH and Doreen Ientile of Manchester, NH. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Kendall Morrison, her husband, Chad Morrison and Gail's great-granddaughter, Abigail Morrison, of Henniker, NH, as well as her grandson, Christopher Luscombe, his wife, Amanda Luscombe and Gail's second great-granddaughter, Lily Snow, of Strafford, NH. She leaves behind her sister, Judy Herman of Hillsborough, NH along with many cousins, of which, there are too many to list.

A Celebration of Gail's life will be held at a later date.

I am so sorry to hear of Gail´s passing. Always a sparkle in her eyes, and enthusiasm for life. We spent hours saying goodbye in the driveway, there was always one more story to tell. Godspeed Gail,
you and Kenny are together again.
