I continue to cherish memories of Jerry and how he mentored me on the Harvard football team and taught me life lessons. I wish I could have maintained ties with him later in life, but I send love and condolences to his family.

Gerry was a teammate on the Harvard Football team where he excelled as an All Ivy selection. I was a younger player, but he treated me with respect and took me under his tutelage and guidance and was like a big brother. Love and condolences to his family and large circle of friends. I will of course remember his positive and inspiring energy.

I had interactions with Dr. Hevern at the hospital 40 years ago. His humanity, his caring and kindness stood out. One could sense Dr. Hevern was a special human being. He made such an impression on me, I will never forget him. I was sorry to read of his passing. My thoughts are with his loving family.

If you remember we lived in the White House, on the other side of the road. Jason use to go and play with your girls. It's been quite a while.
I lost Bob 5 years ago, after we retired to GA., so now I'm in Vermont near Jason. We were married 52 years. All is not the same. Lorraine Scherer

What a loss to the recovery community. Dr. Hevern worked tirelessly to advocate and treat people with substance use disorders. I had the privilege of working with him in the good old days at Lakeshore Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was one of the rare, compassionate physicians who treated patients with kindness and dignity while inviting them to be accountable for changing their lives. He was a wonderful and humorous person. Blessings to his family for such a significant loss. He will certainly be missed.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to Donna and all family members. Dr h was the finest example of an MD. He will be missed by many in the recovery community, for the vital part he played in it. Also the many days I spent working around his home I was very much aware of the love that he had for his wife Donna and family.(Rest in peace Dr Hevern)

I knew Jerry just a little bit from CMC where he was so wise and kind and so very generous with his knowledge. He leaves a wake behind him of better doctors and more humane medical care. I am so grateful for the chance to get to know him and extend my deepest condolences to his family as well as my gratitude for sharing him with all of us.

Our condolences to Donna and family for the loss of such a wonderful, kind hearted, loving Doctor and man! He always made time for my family in need of care. He was always willing to see any of his patients in any given time, he always made sure of that, that they came first! His personality always was a delight to be around.
Dr. Hevern you will missed truly, rest in peace!
James, Donna, Janelle & Oceanna Powers!

I am grateful for the almost 30 years I spent at Catholic Medical Center during which time I befriended both Dr. Jerry and Donna. We all try to find our purpose in life and leave behind a legacy to mentor others. Jerry did both as a caring and competent physician. He and a few other Docs arrived just in time to give the hospital a need spark of life and playfulness added to their medical skills. Long live my many, many beloved Hevern memories!
