Jonathan Paul Downs

Jonathan P. Downs, 70, of Manchester, NH passed away on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Jonathan was born on June 28th, 1954, in Ipswich, MA, the son of the late James and Edith (Bellville) Downs.

Jonathan spent the majority of his career helping to take care of the disabled, organizing day programs and helping them find employment. Later in his life, he was a district manager for Kohls department stores. Helping people, in any and all capacities was always his top priority. Professionally and personally.

In his free time, you could find him fishing, reading a good book (Stephen King, another New Englander, was definitely a favorite) listening to music (of all kinds) or watching football. He was a devout New England Patriots fan - Pre and post Brady. His absolute favorite way to spend his free time was singing to his granddaughter, Emily and being with his family.

He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 42 years, Kathleen Adeena (Clarkin), two daughters, Amanda Masters (and her husband Brian), Jessica Barry (and her husband Michael Dunker), his granddaughter Emily Adeena, his sisters Robin Frost, Wendy Katsekas, his brother Kurt and many nieces and nephews. Jonathan is predeceased by his siblings Bruce Downs, Linda Foster, Penny Perry and Judy Stone.

Jon - you will be forever loved and eternally missed. You were "dad" to everyone you came into contact with and will be carried with each and every one of us forever.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 27th from 6:00-7:00PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, located at 243 Hanover Street in Manchester, NH, with a service to follow until 8:00PM.
