BEDFORD -- Louise M. Rivard, 71, died Aug. 27, 2009, at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1937, in East Hereford, Quebec, to Mederic and Germaine (Gagner) Marquis.
She was educated in Canada and graduated from nursing school in Canada.
Mrs. Rivard was a resident of Bedford for the past 40 years.
At one time she worked as a nurse at the former Sacred Heart Hospital in Manchester.
She was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Rivard enjoyed gathering with her friends for coffee and taking walks around the mall. She was also a volunteer for Prolife of New Hampshire. One of her greatest loves was the welfare of children, which she greatly supported.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford.
Family includes her husband of almost 50 years, Yvon Rivard; daughter Mrs. Dale (Maxine) Mitchell of Hooksett; sister Lucie Marquis of Canada; nieces and nephews.
IN HER LIFE: She is also survived by her two grandsons, Dennis and Brandon Mitchell of Hooksett.
SERVICES: Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Road, Bedford.
Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
