Marcel Lucien "Mike" Halle

1927 - 2011

PALMETTO, Fla. - Marcel "Mike" Lucien Halle, 83, died April 16, 2011, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton.

He was born on April 19, 1927, in Manchester, to Alfred Halle and Alphonsine Larochelle Halle. He was a long-standing member of St. Marie Parish before moving to St. Anne Parish and later to St. Peters Parish in Auburn.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

In 1960, working out of a small single-room office, he founded M.L. Halle Oil Service, Inc., which eventually rose to prominence in the Greater Manchester, N.H., area, where it still thrives as a family business.

Mr. Halle was a generous man, giving his time to many community organizations as well as donating financially to their support. His sense of generosity and kindness were wellknown by all who knew him or came in contact with him.

Family includes his wife, Doris Halle; daughters Lynn Corriveau of Cape Coral, Fla. and Gail Humes of Palmetto, Fla.; sons Roland Halle of Cape Coral, Fla., Michael Halle of Wilson, Kan., Mark Halle of Manchester, N.H., and Steven Halle of San Francisco, Calif.,11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Gertrude Melancon of Worchester, Mass. and Irene Desruisseaux of Manchester, N.H.; brother Armand Halle of Worcester, Mass. He was preceded in death by his sister Theresa Caza of Manchester, NH and brother Gerard Halle of Manchester, NH.

SERVICES: A memorial Mass is at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7 at St. Peters Church, 567 Manchester Road, Auburn. A memorial Mass is at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7 at St. Peter Church, 567 Manchester Road, Auburn, followed by a gathering of friends and family at the home of Mr. Halle's son, Mark Halle.
