Stephen Berberian Obituary

Stephen (Steve) Berberian, age 61, born on January 16, 1962, passed away on August 26, 2023 with his loving wife, Sue, by his side.

Steve was born in Newton, MA, to parents Albert & Margaret (Janjanian) Berberian. He grew up in Sudbury, MA where he made lifelong friends, developed his work ethic, and found his love for music.

He attended Northeastern University, graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Later, he graduated from Plymouth State University with his MBA, while raising a young family. He spent the entirety of his career at Harvey Building Products developing windows.

Steve and Sue were married in 1988 and settled in Merrimack, NH to raise their 3 children. Steve devoted his life to caring for and loving his family.

Steve was known for being the "fix-it" man, as he was endlessly curious, passionate about many things and had a process for everything.

In addition to his wife, Sue, Steve is survived by his son James and wife Laura Berberian, his daughters Katherine & Julie Berberian, his aunt Mary Janjanian, his sister Andrea Berberian, along with many close extended family members, good friends, and his favorite dog Pippa.

Steve was truly larger than life and he will be missed incredibly every day. His legacy will live on through his family and friends.

Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 9:30am - 12pm at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church, 180 Old Westford Rd., Chelmsford, MA. His memorial service will follow in the church at 12pm. The burial will be held privately on a later date.

I worked very closely with Steve for the entirety of my career at Harvey, more than two decades. Steve was extremely passionate about his work, very talented, and had a knowledge of the industry that could compare to almost no one. We all depended on Steve. He mentored most of us and helped make Harvey what it is today. Equally, he was sincerely caring and compassionate about family, not only his own but cared very deeply about the families of each and every employee he spoke to. The smile on his face when he talked about family, music and someone’s unique general interests is one I will never forget. I hear it in the hallways of Harvey every day. You will be sincerely missed Steve. Thank you for being part of all of our lives.

Steve was a sincere gentleman and a very talented professional. It was my great privilege to get to know him and call him a friend. He will always be remembered with a great smile, a kind word and a tremendously positive attitude. He had a great personality with a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit! Steve was a customer of mine for nearly 25 years and I learned many lessons from him during that time. Most importantly how much he valued family over all else. I will truly miss him...

To all Steve's family and friends, the Chiappetta family wishes you our warmest condolences and peace. You will be dearly missed Steve!

Steve was a part of one of the largest pledge classes we had at Tau Kappa Epsilon and as Hegamon had a blast “hazing him”. Steve was a groomsman at my wedding one of many he had that title of. Over the years Steve put his college days behind him so the years piled up and we did not see each other for years. Even though time has past I still have a place in my heart for him. I will always consider him a brother and I will miss his huge smile. See you again someday. YITB. Patrick

Stephen was an engaging and fun guy during my time with him as a fraternity brother at Northeastern University. Loved hanging out with him especially when he was playing his guitar.

I worked with Steve as a supplier for over 2 decades. He was fantastic at his profession but an even better person. We had many discussions over the years that always moved from work to personal experiences in life. I always came away with such a positive feeling about life after talking to Steve, he just had a way of making you feel good about whatever was going on around you. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. God Bless

I worked with Steve at Harvey many many years ago. But I can tell you he was one of the warmest, most genuine people I've ever known. He lived very close to my brother, so we had an opportunity to bump into each other every once in a while. And that was always a special moment for me.

To all of Steve ‘s family and friends, you have my most sincere condolences. I worked with Steve at Harvey, and he was such a wonderful mentor to me. He was always so passionate about his work, and we would also talk about music, family, and dogs! We would sit in his office and share pictures of our kids and pups all the time. He taught me so much, and I know I would not be where I am in my career without his desire to educate the people around him. I am so grateful to Steve, and so saddened by his passing. My heart goes out to you all.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of a friend. You could not ask for a nicer guy. He always spoke of the love for his children and how proud he was of them. He was an honest, passionate, and humble sole. I have nothing but respect for Steve. He will be missed.

Steve and I where neighbors growing up. We had a lot of fun together and even use to get into fist fight’s with each other, but always stayed friends! One summer day, my dad was burning leave’s in our back yard. Steve was over watching and helping throwing leave’s on the fire. My father told the two of us, that’s enough burning for today boy’s! My dad left us and went out to the front yard. Steve and I started throwing leaves back on the fire. The wind picked up and some of the leave’s we threw on the fire spread to the grass and next thing you know, the fire is spreading over the back yard! Steve say, “ I gotta go “! Lol..had to be fifty year’s ago, but I still smile when I think of that day we spent together burning leaves in my parent’s back yard! Steve was always a good friend and a great neighbor growing up!! Rest In Peace bud!
