You made me strong, touched my life deeply, and even though you are gone, you will always be in my heart. You taught me so much, especially how to love, and I thank you for that. You told me not to be afraid of what tomorrow would bring, but only to face it as best we could and I am trying. I guess that is why it took me this long to sign your book. May you be in peace and resting now. I will keep my promise to you and watch over those people you told me to. Forever in my heart and thoughts.

FOR THE YEAR THAT I WAS DOWN IN THE VALLEY, YOU TOUCHED MY LIFE IN SO MANY WAYS FOR THE SHORT TIME I WORKED WITH YOU. I SAW THE PASSION THAT YOU HAD FOR YOUR CAREER. NOW YOU ARE LOOKING OVER US AS WE MAKE OUR JUDGEMENT CALLS FOR EVERY PATIENT IN HOPES THAT WE MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION AND SAVE LIVES JUST AS YOU WOULD HAVE IF YOU WERE ON THE BOX WITH US. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE AN INSPIRATION TO ALL OF US. NOT JUST TO ME, I READ SO MANY OF THESE COMMENTS AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM SAY THE EXACT SAME THING. YOU WERE VERY DEVOTED TO YOUR CAREER AND WOULDNT HAVE HAD IT ANY OTHER WAY. WE ALL LOVE YOU MIKE AND WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOMEDAY. GOD BLESS YOU

Because of the wonderful person you were to everyone and of all the selfless acts you did on a daily basis, it will still be your wonderful smile and personality that will be missed the most. I know and my husband agrees that now that we have 3 fallen heroes watching over us from above, we could not be in better hands. Although we would prefer to have you with us, it gives us great comfort that we can look up and know you are there for us. You will be missed and we will continue to pray for healing and comfort for you family, but you will always be in our hearts and we will see you again once we are called by our Heavenly Father. Until then we love you and miss you but will never forget you.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

It is an honor to have known Michael T. My husband and I both enjoyed his sense of humor and constant smile, and knew that Michael could always be counted on for a joke. He brought much joy to his co-workers, and many hours of laughter to my husband, a former VAC piolot. You have so many reasons to be proud of Michael; it is our prayer that memories of his warm smile and quick wit will bring you comfort through this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by EVERYONE whose life he touched.

Mike, I want your family to know, you will greatly be missed. Your infectious smile, that sparkle in your eye and the wonderful kindness you brought forth to those around you. I never saw a mean bone in you. I once asked you about the risks of flying and you simply shrugged your shoulders and said in spanish, "Well, if that is the way it has to be......." A wave to you, wherever you are standing now and it was a great pleasure to have worked with you.

I will always remember Mike Sanchez as a great person and a wonderful friend. His personality and warm heartedness could make anyones day. He put people in front of him and always wanted everyone to be in good spirits. I worked with Mike at South Star in Weslaco and had the privilege of being his partner several times. He was a great paramedic and I know he will be missed very much by everyone who knew him. His family and friends will be in my prayers and I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm going to include a poem that I wrote in memory of Mike.

"Wings of an angel"

2008 Feb. 5th
A pilot and a nurse
Is who he was with

It was 8:45
Clear but too windy
On that Tuesday night

Another call came in
The helo took off
And I lost a friend

Almost to the call
At South Padre
The weather caused the crash
That's what they say

Only 39 years old
Mike Sanchez is his name
Why did God take him
At such a young age

I worked with him
A while in EMS
A great person, wonderful friend
A paramedic- the best

He would bring snacks to share
Along with a great personality and smile
You would know what I mean
If you just talked to him awhile

He changed many lives
And saved many people
Whether in an ambulance
Or flying in that helo

Man made equipment
Is what he used to fly
That's not what he uses anymore
Now that he has died

God has given him something
Far more dependable
They won't break and shatter
Wings of an angel

My deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers go out to Michael's family now and always. Michael and his fellow men gave the ultimate sacrifice to help those in need, even at the risk of their own lives. There is no greater act of unselfishness than this, and words will never express the depth of gratitude we as a community have for heroes like Michael, Raul, and Robert; and the gratitude we have for all our first responders. May God bless Michael's family, co-workers, and friends.

Our heart goes out to each and everyone of you, for your great loss, May the lord give you the strenght to survive. I do believe he is in the glory of God today, since he put his own life in danger daily for people he didn't know. It takes a very special person with a big heart to do the work he did .
Today he is one more angel at the kingdom of God, May God bless you all. (St. Theresa Church Member)
