Ernesto Cazares "Papa" passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 22, 2010, following a brief illness at home with his of 51 years, Elisa, at his side.
Ernesto was born Feb. 12, 1934 to Alfonso and Sara Cazares of La Piedad, Mexico. He was the oldest of six children. In 1967 he and his young wife Elisa moved their young family to Santa Barbara and, in 1968, settled in Ventura where they raised their two sons and two daughters: Ernest, Art, Sara and Carole. Ernesto worked for many years at the Bell Mattress Company in Ventura.
Since retirement, Ernesto spent much of his time with his wife Elisa gardening in their backyard and listening to Dodger baseball games. He loved to spend hours shopping all the indoor swap meets in downtown Ventura and having family gatherings for all occasions. He loved visiting with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Ernesto is survived by his adoring wife, Elisa; son, Ernesto and daughter-in-law Traci; son, Art; daughter, Sara Hidalgo and son-in-law Arthur; daughter, Carole Bradley and son-in-law Steve; grandsons, Tymothy Bradley and Chandler Cazares; granddaughter, Valerya Baker; grandson-in-law, Forest; granddaughters, Stephanie Cazares, Amanda and Emily Hidalgo, Lyndsay Bradley; great-granddaughter, Audrey Olivia Baker.
Memorial Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday, March 29 at the San Buenaventura Mission. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary at the San Buenaventura Mission. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.

My Dearest Sara, Arthur, Amanda & Emily And the entire Cazares Family,
I was very touched yesterday, by the Beautiful Funeral services held at The Old Mission in Ventura yesterday honoring your Father's Life. I'm sure he was right there with us smiling with Pride for being honored in such a Special way by his wife Elisa, their chidren and their families. May you take comfort in re-living the Special Memories he has left with each of you.
Please know that My Thoughts and Prayers are with You All.
