Geraldine Ann "Geri" Ahern of Thousand Oaks died peacefully after a brief illness on New Years Eve, Dec. 31, 2007.
Geri was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Pontiac, Mich.
Geri was the matriarch of a loving family. She came to California in 1947 and was one of eight children raised in the San Fernando Valley.
She is survived by her husband, Dan; children, Tim Ahern, Letty Rosebrugh, Terry Ahern and Kelly Wiere; 14 grandchildren; and five of her siblings.
Geri, a twin, had a wonderful disposition of good humor, a friendly smile and was always ready to be of service to those around her. She cherished her high school friendships and continuously made friends of those she met. Her treasures were her grandchildren. Her faith was her God, and her destiny was heaven. Her children and her grandchildren gave her the ultimate gift of letting her go before her angels came to take her home. She is now a saint in heaven.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary in Westlake Village. Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5801 Kana Road (at Lindero Canyon Road), Agoura Hills.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Casa Pacific of Camarillo.

Aunt Geri,
I will miss your smile and caring touch. You made 4th of July a memory for me that I will keep with me for the rest of my life. I was always so excited to go to your home when I was young. I love you and will miss you.

It is with great pride and fond memories that I can say I was fortunate enough to be a part of Geri's family as her sister-in-law many years ago. Geri was always generous in all her deeds and thoughts. I can never remember a moment in time when she had a harsh word for anyone. Geri had a smile that lit up any room she walked into and she always made everyone feel welcomed in her home. On a very personal note it was because of all the beautiful pottery she use to throw and glaze and put so much time and energy into that fascinated me to the extent that I took her advice and went to college to learn how to do the same thing. Geri's encouragement for me to do this, led me to take an intrest in other subjects while I was on campus and I eventually ended up getting my Masters Degree. I hated school and never dreamed or imagened this would ever happen for me...perhaps she knew exactly what she was doing! I will admire her always as a mother, grandmother, wife and most impotingly as a wonderful loving human being. Geri touched many life's I am sure and will be missed by many.
Many Blessing and much love to all her family and friends...I know this is one woman who walks in heaven with the Angels and her Lord.

Geri was the classiest, most gracious person I've ever known. She was also a dream boss and friend. Style, grace and a great laugh. I will cherish these memories of her for all time.

Dear Aunt Geri,
You were a beautiful person inside and out. My deepest sympathy is for your children, whom I know loved you and will deeply miss you. You were such a wonderful mother, I can only hope and pray I do as well as you have. I will always remember your kindness and love, and the wonderful memories of you and your home during my childhood. You were a ray of light and blessed so many people. May you find peace and rest in heaven.

I'll treasure all the memories we shared while working together, especially the one about the day your horse got out and you had to leave work to chase it down. We had a lot of laughs, some tears, and a lot of history together. I'll miss you.
