Hunter Ott was born Aug. 18, 1990, and was playing with the angels Monday night and followed them home Tuesday morning. His long-term battle with his illness no longer awaits him for he is now in peace.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall be with the Lord forever.
-- Matthew 5:8
Hunter's heart was gold, a heart so big that others felt loved by all that know him. Hunter had a lot of empathy for those less fortunate than him. He had a great concern of the homeless, always helping them in whatever way he could, sometimes when he himself didn't have more than the less fortunate. It is remembered how he even took the sweater off his back one time to help the less fortunate.
Hunter was a fine athlete, a good scholar, and for those who got to know him a loving, funny person. To us he was a gift from heaven; the greatest gift a mother, father, sister, and brother could ask for.
Hunter was truly at peace with himself and his life the night of his passing. He made amends with those he felt he needed to, and had found Jesus "again" shortly before his passing. Hunter felt very grateful to have his family around and his last words were " I love you, Mom." His last wishes were his family to discover God for themselves.
So please do not grieve for long for Hunter he would not want that. He was at peace with himself. He went to heaven where he has no more pain and every kid has a mom and dad and knows they are loved.
He is preceded by his grandparents Nana (Annette) and Papa (Dal).
He leaves behind his loving mother, Chris Ott; father, Mark Ott (Kathy); older sister, Shasta; brother, Mark Ott of Camarillo. He also leaves behind his grandparents; numerous aunts uncles and cousins.
He will be so deeply missed by his girlfriend Annie whom he loved very much. Everyone who knew Hunter will miss him dearly. We love you, rest in peace.
A viewing for Hunter will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m., with the service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at the Conejo Mountain Funeral Home Chapel, Camarillo. The burial will follow at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.
Assisting the family is Conejo Mountain Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo, CA 93012; phone, 805-482-1959.

We remember Hunter from PONY baseball. What a gifted, tenacious athlete. His grandpa was so proud of Hunter. Hunter had a great smile and a fun personality. He was at our house a few times with Paul and Eliot for poker, and he had everyone laughing. We are very sorry for the loss of Hunter.

Chris
We were neighbors for a few years on Lonsdale St. Our kids Shasta, Mark, Hunter and Dane, Malia and Melissa all played together. I am so very sorry to have learned about Hunter passing. He was a special young man. We have you & your family in our hearts and prayers. There is no pain worse then the loss of your child.

Dear Ott Family,
We are deeply saddened by the news of Hunter's passing. Hunter was a good friend to our son when our son needed a good friend. I rember taking Hunter and Andrew to Magic Mountain one year, it was memorable for both and they had a blast. Though I only met Hunter that day he made and impression on me. And though our son suffers today from this tragic loss, we comfort him by reminding him that he once had a good friend named Hunter Ott. Our son will always remember Hunter.
With our deepest sympathy,
The Borrego Family

Rainy Days
When the rain comes,
sometimes, it’s sporadic.
No beginning or finish,
Nothing dramatic.
It may come along slowly,
Not necessarily steady.
We may find ourselves thinking that we are not ready
For all that comes with it;
The flooding and such…
All of a sudden,
The burden’s too much.
We have to find shelter for us and our loved ones.
Knowing inevitably that the end comes.
Some people look to it,
Some of us dread it.
The fact is that none of our loved ones forget it.
Those who have faith,
Can look up, on and past,
And know that our spirit will have peace at last.
‘Cause rainy days wash away regret, fear and sorrow.
Rainy days are God’s promise for a brighter tomorrow.

Dear Otts,
I'm not sure if you remeber me but I lived next door to you on Lantana Street and I just want to say that I was and still am so sorry to hear about Hunter passing. I was so shocked and it didn't hit me until today actually, (Monday January 8,2007) that he was actually gone. I am sad that I will never see him again. I actually just ran into him at Coffee Bean about a month ago and he was looking good. He actually grew up since the last time I saw him. So I just want to say that I am deeply sorry about him passing and I know that you and of course I will miss him deeply.

To the entire Ott Family;
My most sincere condolences to you all. I know this must be a bitter-sweet time filled with both wonderful memories of good times and tremendous sadness. My prayer is that you find comfort and solace in the knowledge of his resting in the peace of Jesus Christ. His last Earthly breath was followed by his first Heavenly one.
“Today you will be with me in Paradise”.
God Bless and comfort you all………

Chris,
I can in no way imagine or relate to what you and your family must be going through. What I can share with you is the only way that I can get through my daily suffering in my situation is with my daily dose of grace and mercy from the Lord that is promised in His word. When my family hurts like this it makes me yearn to be back home in California. Another one of the Beatitudes is "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted"-Matthew 5:4. I sincerely pray that God would wrap his giant arms around you all for any bit of comfort. Feel free to contact me. Love, JAYNE, LeighAnn and Michael Quam

Chris and Family,
Our prayers are with you. Hunter will be dearly missed by our family. Everytime we had a birthday party for Paul, there was Hunter, front and center with that big smile. Hunter, Paul, and Eliot were the childhood friends you hear about. They met in 2nd grade and never stopped spending time together. No matter how many friends he has, Paul will always consider Hunter and Eliot his best friends. Paul will always feel the loss, but I know he feels Hunter is with God and he will always pray for him.
God Bless You, Your Family and All those who loved and cared about him, including his friends.

Chris - you don't know me, but I married Robert Lyttle (brother of Jackie, Karen and Lynn). My heartfelt prayers are with you and your family. I am so happy Hunter found the Lord again before his passing. Please let us know if you need anything. Some dear friends of mine from church just lost their 25 year old son last weekend and, like Hunter, his wish was that those he loved found the Lord. God bless you in this difficult time. Although we cannot be there, please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Hunter was an amazing young man. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was helping feed him bottles in Nana's and Papa's rec room. He will be greatly missed. We love you all.

Dear Ott Family,
Please accept our family's deepest condolences. Santos and I will never forget how much courage Hunter displayed as a 7 year old practicing Roadrunner football with 10 year old athletes at his brother Mark's side. I knew then that this young man was very special and his memory will live forever in our hearts. We were privileged to have been involved in his life. We share in your grief and send our love. May his faith in Jesus and the Lord our God give Hunter eternal life, Amen.
Keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,
Geoff and Ana, Santos, Geoff Jr. & Christopher Lockley.
