Kenneth Herr Obituary
Westlake Village, CA
Kenneth D, Herr, 83, of Westlake Village, CA passed away at home on Sunday, November 27th after a long illness. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He battled Parkinson's Disease for nine years.
Kenneth was born in Pennsylvania to E. Grant Herr and Sara Graybill Herr. He was a man of deep faith and keen intellect. Kenneth received his Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois. He worked as an aerospace engineer for IBM for more than 25 years and for Stanford Telecommunications until his retirement. His work involved space and defense systems for the federal government and support for the Space Shuttle program.Kenneth loved to play backgammon, was an avid cyclist, and reached great heights when he climbed Mount Whitney.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Herr Brown, Lauren Herr Coniglio, and his sons-in-law Jim Brown and Joe Coniglio. He also leaves behind his brother, Lowell Herr and his wife Grace, of Portland, Oregon.
A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village on Tuesday, December 6th, at 1:00 PM with Rev. John Burnett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth's name to the National Parkinson's Foundation and the Westlake Village Library would be appreciated.

At IBM in Westlake Village, Ken interviewed me to work on a project that that is still in operation roughly 35 years later. We rode bicycles together with Dave Wisemiller (deceased) around the area and century rides to Carpenteria.He was a calm, thoughtful and organized manager. In my early career, he exemplified how an IBMer conducted himself.

I worked with and for Ken for a number of years at IBM. I always thought of him as a great friend. He will certainly be sorely missed.
