We were so saddened to hear of Russ' passing. Russ was such a great source of happiness and positivity, every time he visited our office.
Russ was truly an inspiration for anyone living with a chronic illness. He did not let it slow him down or prevent him from doing the things he loved and wanted to do.
We will miss seeing and visiting with Russ in our office.
May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of the joyful times you had together, as you celebrate a life well lived.
Sincerely,
Kristin Stiles Green and staff.

Sue and I first met Russ and Susie 43 years ago in a young couples group called Shareringers at the Santa Monica Methodist Church. Over the first 2 decades, we celebrated our kids' birthdays and enjoyed many church camps, activities and celebrations. We gathered for weekend vacations with and without our kids. For the past 20+ years, we had a tradition of watching the Super Bowl and enjoying dinner together. We will especially miss him during this year's Super Bowl game.
Whenever we got together, I fondly recall Russ' smile and his greeting "hey buddy, how are you doing" followed by a strong handshake. He was a true friend who kept in touch and provided support when it was needed. He was fun person to be around and someone you looked forward to being with for a game of golf, a meal or on extended vacations to Canada, Grand Canyon, and Mississippi River Cruises. As a CPA, Russ willingly gave of himself and provided helpful and sound advice whenever we struggled during tax season. He had great stamina and worked long hours 7 days a week helping others.
Russ was quite a smart guy who had a terrific memory for sports details. I recall a special moment when we both jumped up cheering when the Dodgers' Kirk Gibson hit that famous 1988 World Series home run and won the game. A high-five moment that we often recalled and treasured together.
Russ seemed to have a common sense approach to life and had a knack for making complex problems a series of simple steps. When dealing with such problems, he did his best and said that he liked to keep it simple. We used to kid him that he needed to learn how to use the computer, which he declined to do. He clearly knew how to keep his stress levels in check!
During the past year, Russ maintained a a remarkable upbeat and positive attitude and never complained about his health, despite a series of challenges and setbacks. On Christmas Day, he talked about selling his business and retiring. Unfortunately, he left this life too quickly and too soon. Our memory of Russ, however, will live on as model of what a best friend is all about.

We had the privilege of being a client of this truly wonderful giving man for many years. Even when we moved to San Diego, we would make our annual family trip to see him. I/we were sincerely shocked and are deeply saddened to have heard the news. We wish his family, friends and colleagues our sincerest condolences. . We willl miss him. Our prayers to all who knew and loved Russ during this tender time. Karen, Ray & Dane Pearson
