Whether he was in attendance to a race or just hanging out he enjoyed his time with his close friends, Jeff and Scott. Over the last couple years he obtained a new passion for mountain biking. Mike would take every opportunity to ride and explore Montana de Oro as well as many other surrounding mountainous locations. Mike was predeceased by his father Joe Gonzales. Mike leaves his memories to be cherished by his mother, Mabel Gonzales; daughter and husband, Nicole and Dwayne Burleson of Wisconsin; step-daughter and husband, Christal and Russell Howard of Hanford; sister, Barbara Gonzales and brother and wife Matt and Lisa Gonzales all of Visalia. It´s hard to believe it´s been 10 years. Mike was my Hotline bowling teammate and we worked together at Caltrans in SLO. He was so friendly, upbeat, helpful and kind. He always had time to help you when you walked in and to talk. You are so missed by your CT family.

I still remember Mike with great fondness and those memories bring a smile to my face. May he continue to smile down on us left behind and may he bring a smile to all who loved him on the 22nd and every day.

Everybody that was a friend of Mike's is in the same boat, we all miss him. Mike was that guy once he knew you a friendship followed. The next time a car show is coming up he won't be there to talk cars with. The next race, we would always talk how great it was and how our favorite riders fared. So much of life to share but now you are gone, and all of us will miss you so much. RIP Mike, I will not forget you and the good times we had. John & Pat Lewis

Mike was a dedicated, hard-working Caltrans employee and a wonderful softball teammate. I can never remember Mike ever saying anything negative about anyone. He will be missed. The angels have picked up a great teammate.

Our prayers and sympathies to the family. Mike was such a naturally nice person. We bowled for many years with him and my husband played ball with him. He was a kind soul. Rest in Peace. Craig and Debbie Fisher

As I write this I am really having trouble getting the right words. Mike was one of the nicest people I have ever known. Since I hired him as a coworker at Caltrans I have enjoyed the times I have been around him. Love you Mike.
